The controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g. names, email addresses, or similar).

Storage period

Unless a specific storage period is specified in this privacy policy statement, we will retain your personal data until the purpose for processing the data no longer applies. If you make a legitimate request to have your data erased or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be erased, unless we have any other lawful reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. fiscal or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, the date will be erased after these reasons no longer apply.

Note on the transmission of data to the USA

Our website uses tools from companies based in the USA. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transmitted to the US servers of the respective companies. Please note that the USA is not a safe third country within the  meaning of EU data protection law. US companies are required to disclose personal data to government security agencies without you as the data subject being able to take legal action against this. Therefore, it is possible that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) will process, evaluate, and permanently store your data on US servers for monitoring purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.

Withdrawal of your consent to the processing of your data

Many data processing operations are possible only with your express consent. You may withdraw any consent that has been given, at any time. The legality of the data processing performed until your withdrawal remains unaffected by this withdrawal.

Right to object to the collection of data in particular cases and to direct advertising (Art. 21 of the GDPR)

IF THE DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6 (1) (E) OR (F) OF THE GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT, FOR REASONS THAT ARISE FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA AT ANY TIME; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA IN QUESTION, UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING, LEGITIMATE REASONS FOR THE PROCESSING THAT OUTWEIGH YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS, AND FREEDOMS OR THE PROCESSING SERVES TO ASSERT, EXERCISE, OR DEFEND LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION ACCORDING TO ART. 21 (1) OF THE GDPR). IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ARE PROCESSED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL THEN NO LONGER BE USED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES (OBJECTION ACCORDING TO ART. 21 (2) OF THE GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

In the event of violations of the GDPR, every data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, especially in the Member State of his or her habitual residence, place of work, or in the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to other legal administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically based on your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will be done only if it is technically feasible.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the website operator, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock icon in your browser line. When the SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Information, erasure, and rectification

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to free information about your stored personal data, the origin and recipient of such data, and the purpose of the processing of such data, and if applicable, the right to have such data rectified or erased. If you have any questions about this or any other matters concerning your personal data, you may contact us at the address given in the legal notice at any time.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. You may contact us at the address given in the legal notice at any time. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we normally require time to investigate the dispute. During this time, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. If your personal data was processed / is being processed unlawfully, instead of the erasure of the data, you can request the restriction of the data processing. If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend, or assert legal claims, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted instead of being erased. If you have lodged an objection according to Art. 21 (1) of the GDPR, an evaluation of your interests versus ours must be considered. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such data – apart from its storage – may be processed only with your consent or for the assertion, exercise, or defence of legal claims, or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of substantial public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

4. Data collection on this website

Server log files

The provider of the websites automatically collects and saves information in “server log files”, which your browser transmits to us automatically. This information includes:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not combined with other data sources. This data is collected based on Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – this requires the recording of the server log files. Enquiry by email, phone, or fax If you contact us by email, telephone, or fax, your enquiry, including all associated personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent. This data is processed based on Art. 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR, if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of enquiries sent to us (Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR) if it was requested. We will retain any data you send us in contact requests until you ask us to erase it, withdraw your consent for it to be stored, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – especially legal retention periods – remain unaffected.

5. Plugins and tools

YouTube with extended data protection

This website offers videos on YouTube. The operator of the site is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
We use YouTube in extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the transfer of data to YouTube partners is not necessarily ruled out by the extended data protection mode. This is how YouTube – regardless of whether you are watching a video – connects to the Google DoubleClick network. As soon as you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection is established to the YouTube servers. Here, the YouTube server is informed as to which of our pages you have visited. When you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. In addition, after a video has started, YouTube may save various cookies on your device or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can receive information about visitors to this website. This information may be used to collect video statistics, improve usability, and prevent fraud attempts. Additional data processing operations over which we have no influence may also be triggered after a YouTube video has started. YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR. If the appropriate consent has been requested, processing is done based solely on Art. 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
